ANALYSIS

Gresham is located on the borders of eastern Portland and Troutdale. Over the years Gresham has evolved from a rural farming community to a rich a growing business community. Although the growth of the city has been admirable, the city lags behind other big cities in the state when it comes to diversity among other races. In a study done in 2000 by the U.S. Census, Gresham is a more prominently white than it’s neighboring city of Portland, but lags behind in high school graduates (or higher). A diverse community can definitely be a healthy community where different here in the city can coexist with each other, learn about each others culture, and share common interests.
