FUTURE

It can be questioned whether the lack of diversity in Gresham is actually hurting the city. Our country thrives on it, yet Gresham is lagging behind not only the other top four cities in the state— but the country as well. The lag in diversity and high school graduate numbers may be a concern for the future, as Gresham will need to catch up to their big brother cities along with the nation's average. Within the past decade (2000-2010), Oregon has seen a spike in population growth by 13% along with a growth of non-white residents (2010 Census). As this trend continues, I predict in ten years Gresham will ride parallel with it also and grow more diverse to catch up with other cities nationwide.
